Lin Liu MW is the only female Chinese Master of Wine. She has lived in France since 2010 and moved to Bordeaux with her family in September 2023.

Lin grew up in Hangzhou and has lived in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Scotland and southwest France since she finished her first degree in English Literature and Linguistics (Zhejiang University, China). She also holds an MBA qualification (Aberdeen Business School, UK).
Following the apprentice with Gerard Basset MW MS and Michel Bettane since 2012, Lin launched her wine critic career with her Bordeaux En Primeur 2019 report, immediately obtained by far the biggest view ship in China among throughout the whole wine industry of the country. All of her annual reports have achieved 40,000 to over 100,000 views. She is the first Asian born wine critic referenced by Wine Searcher and Liv-Ex.
Lin has also contributed to many international press: Decanter, Bettane et Desseauve, RVF (China), Meininger International Wine Business, Conde Nast Traveller, Wine Magazine (China), Vinehoo (China), Yun Jiu (China), China Southern Airlines Magazine etc. Lin is Ambassador for Golden Vine Awards and Gerard Basset Foundation for China and is a member of Master Circle (Switzerland). Furthermore, she has been appointed by WSET as technical editor for their diploma textbook.
Lin also participates in the winemaking in Château de Chambert with her partner and has extensive viticulture knowledge. In her previous life she worked as a Foreign Direct Investment consultant with many blue-chip companies, and later gained experience in the Scotch whisky sector.
In her spare time Lin enjoys mushroom hunting, cooking, traveling, pottery, sailing, and spending time with her family.
